Michelle Palmborg joined the MSNEL faculty team in January 2019 after teaching as an adjunct faculty member in both the CfW and old ADN program since 2015. Michelle obtained her doctor of nursing practice degree with a focus in transcultural and holistic nursing in May, 2019 from Augsburg University. Michelle’s dissertation was on the effects toxic stress has on inner-city youth’s health and education, as well as ways to positively cope. Her passion is in cultural humility, dismantling health disparities, and encouraging nurses to deemphasize their expert role in order to become citizen nurses.

Michelle is a former Katie, graduating with her ADN in 2010, then RN-BSN 2013, BSN-MAN 2016, MAN-DNP 2019. Michelle has worked most of her nursing career at Saint Joseph’s hospital in the float pool for 3 years, and currently she is working in the ER where she has been for the past 5 years.

Outside of work Michelle enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters, as well as traveling.

Aubri is currently finishing her Master's in Nursing degree as St. Catherine's University and aspires to become a Nurse Practitioner in the future. She began working at Empower Therapeutic Services in 2013 as an intern and is currently working as the community outreach coordinator and provides professional support to therapists. She has extensive experience in racial justice work and student leadership groups. She is passionate about addressing health disparities, patient advocacy, and developed a passion for maternal health and perinatal mental health after becoming a mother two years ago. AuBri believes in the power of storytelling as a form of healing for mothers and believes in holistic approaches to wellness, incorporating aspect of both physical and mental health.
